donkey, who?

I slog like a donkey n pay taxes to Govt.

Govt provides free/ subsidized seeds fertilizers, water, pesticides to farmers. Then same Govt buys those food grains at MSP. And farmers don't pay taxes on any of those transactions. 

Govt. sells this food grains back to me. I pay from my remaining money. 

Now I buy a new phone, new vehicle, or some furniture for my home, or a new home for which I must pay EMI 30 years into the future! What am I called? Shameless!  Becoz there are 1000s of farmers struggling to produce food for us and u enjoy all these? Shame on u. IT dept says.. saale humne itna tax vasooli aur phir bhi itne saare kharedein... kahan se aayein paise..  bol. Black money hain naa.

Doesn't it seem a lil bit strange? They have been married for 10 years, have tried continuously for kids but couldn't. They didn't consult a doctor even once? Its said her uterus, fallopian tubes,ovaries never developed. Externally she looks like a woman. No doctor ever found this out? ! 

She never menstrated her entire life, and her parents never bothered to get her checked up? 

To me, it seems an elaborate hoax, to hide the fact and get her married. After all, ಸಾವಿರ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಹೇಳಿ ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡು. 

Now, that the truth is out, husband is counseled to continue leading normal life withe her!

Now can we rewind our memories a bit? 

A popular singer was divorced twice becoz he was incapable of fathering. A feminist lawyer screamed into your TV screens if he is impotent why should he marry and spoil the girl's life?

Another popular actress divorced her husband for the samw reason. She wanted kids and he couldn't provide! And the law completely sided with her. 

When a male approaches the court claiming woman can't bear children, he is reprimanded, warned, children are not important. Just STFU, grin n bear. 

Wow... and still India is patriarchal? 

The great AAP experiment

14 Feb 2014, Arvind Kejriwal's date with 'power' to change the system came to an end! He resigned, out of frustration with the system, he claims. 

When Anna and AK launched the movement against corruption, We the People of India thought we could see a change. Their movement caught the imagination of the middle class, the educated masses, who are never considered a vote bank, who never stir out of their homes on voting day, came out in support of the movement in huge no.s. We all thought good days back back to India. Some even compared it to the Freedom movement in the '40s.

Then appeared the cracks among the team Anna. AK decided to go alone. And the people still hoped...

And when AK launched the Aam Admi Party, people where elated. And voted his debutante AAP to power, well almost. AAP getting so many votes was a record in itself. 

After all this, what did AK and his AAP do? Drama, Drama and Dharna. All he could manage was mere 49 days in power. What was his problem? His Lokpal bill was not allowed to be presented in the legislature, for procedural issues. And like crybaby, he resigned.

So what, the AAPtards ask. What he did was right, he did not want to stay in power once he realised he could implement his promise. 

But what he really achieved? Anyone care to think? He dashed the hopes of the millions of people, all over the country, hope, hoping for a good future, clean politics, good politicians.

He reinforced what the rest of the politicians were saying, you cannot clean the system.

Now did he do that indvertantly or by design, who knows. Answers, anyone?

Income Tax Dept & Privacy

The new ad by the Income Tax Dept. claims to know every spending activity of ours. The spot ad on FM channels claims 'ನೀವಾನಾದರೂ ಬಚ್ಚಿಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಾ, ನಮಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ...." Is this not an assault on our privacy. The Govt. has the right to levy taxes on us and also collect it from us. But is this not tantamount spying on us? We get upset about the Govt. reading all emails, our tweets, facebook posts..... How come we are never worried about this blatant spying? Our Hon. Finance Minister claims to created a mega software which can analyse our incomes, spending patterns, how much tax we have paid, etc etc...... We are quiet abt this, nonchalant. But when we are told that Google 'scans' our mails to display targetted ads, we are inflamed, protest passionately!!! Wakeup Indians, #‎uttishTabharata

Imagine a situation, a rogue country has attacked India, & Gen. Bikram Singh, COAS says, "Sorry, we are here to learn. We may have made some mistakes, but our intentions are good"
What if the Chief of Naval staff said, Let me first learn & them we will fight the enemies.

What if the Hon. Justices of Supreme Court of India said, we are anarchists?

Can you imagine the CEO of Infy sitting on a dharna??? because the American Embassy refused visas to his employees???

We expect high standards of performance from the Executive, the Judiciary, the Defence forces, teachers, lecturers, professors,  our hairdresser, tailor, even our kaam wali bai..........
We take extreme care when we select our kaam wali bai.

But then why do we elect & tolerate; untrained, uneducated, roguish, anarchists, criminals in the Legislature????? Why do we never ask their credentials, verify their credentials, their competence......... We blindly vote based on their glib talk, caste groupings, religion......... Why so? Any answers ppl?

67th Independence day

Everywhere there are congratulatory messages, celebrations, elevated moods for 67th Independence day of the Republic of India??

What are we today?

We claim today to be the world's biggest democracy, but only 40% of the population vote! Are we then a real democracy?

40 odd years after Garibi hatao, we still need the Food Security Act to feed our people with 150 gm of food grains/person/day, and the definition of a rich person is a person who can earn more than Rs. 26/day.

We need Aap ke paise aap ke haath (Direct Benefit Transfer) to get in full what is rightfully ours.

We still need to fight in courts about the necessity to sing Vande mataram, our national song, in schools!
We have forgotten the sacrifices made by the anonymous millions during the freedom fight but remember just 1 family n their dynastic rule.

Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekar Azad, Khudiram Bose are described as terrorists in our text books, but Kasab n the people who wave flags of a neighbouring country are sympathised as freedom fighters!

Is there anything to celebrate, congratulate ourselves?

ವಸಂತ ಮೂಡುವುದೆಂದಿಗೆ

ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿ ಈ ಹಾಡು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದು ಸಿ. ಅಶ್ವಥ್ ಅವರ ಸಿರಿ ಕಂಠದಲ್ಲಿ. ಸಂಗೀತ, ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಅಮೋಘವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಇದರ ನಿಜವಾದ ಅರ್ಥ ತಿಳಿದದ್ದು ದೂರದ ದೆಹಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ.

ಹೀಗೇ ಒಮ್ಮೆ supplier visit ಮುಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ತಣ್ಣಗೆ AC ಗಾಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗುರ್‌ಗಾಂವದಿಂದ ದೆಹಲಿ ಏರ್‌ಪೋರ್ಟ್‌ಗೆ ಹೊರಟಿದ್ದೆ. ಹೊರಗೆ ವಿಪರೀತ ಬಿಸಿಲು, AC ಇದ್ದರೂ ಒಳಗೆ ಅಸಹನೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಗಾಡಿ ಅಚಾನಕ್ ನಿಂತುಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು. ಮತ್ತೂ ಅಸಹನೆಗೊಂಡು ಕಿಟಕಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ನೋಡಲು ಕಂಡದ್ದು ಒಂದು Ape ಆಟೋ. ಆಗಲೆ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ೩~೪ ಜನ ಇದ್ದರೂ ಸುಮಾರು ೧೦ highschool ಓದೋ ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅದೇ ಆಟೋವನ್ನು ಏರಿ ಕುಳಿತರು. ಹೊರಗೆ ಉರಿಬಿಸಿಲು, ಈ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಆಟೋದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯ, ದುಃಖ. ನೆನಪಾದದ್ದು ಇದೇ ಹಾಡು “ ವಸಂತ ಮೂಡುವುದೆಂದಿಗೆ, ಈ ಜನಕೋಟಿಯ ಗೋಳು ಬಾಳಿಗೆ”! ಯಾವುದರ ಪರಿವೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಆ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ನಗುನಗುತ್ತಾ, ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಮಾತಾಡುತ್ತಾ ತಮ್ಮ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದರು.

ಸುಮಾರು ಒಂದು ಘಂಟೆಯ ನಂತರ, ದೆಹಲಿ ಏರ್‌ಪೋರ್ಟ್ ತಲುಪಿಯಾಯ್ತು. Check in, security check ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಾಂಗವಾಗಿ ಮುಗಿಸಿ, waiting hallಗೆ ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಹಾ, ಸಮಾಧಾನದ ಉಸಿರು ಬಿಟ್ಟಂತಾಯಿತು. ಎಂಥಾ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ, ಅದೂ ಕೇವಲ ೪೦ kmಗಳಲ್ಲಿ! ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಛಳಿಯೆನಿಸುವಷ್ಟು AC, Pizza Hut, KFC, Costa Coffee…. ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಟಿತ restaurantಗಳು. ಇನ್ನು ಕೊಳ್ಳುಬಾಕತನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುವ ಮಿನಿ ಮಳಿಗೆಗಳು.... ಕೊನೆಯಿಲ್ಲ.

ಆದರೆ ಈ ಜನರೇಕೆ ಹೀಗೆ? ಕೆಲವರು ಮುಖ ಗಂಟು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು, ಮೊಬೈಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ನಡೆಸುತಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೆಲವರು blackberryಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಲ್ಲೀನರು, ಮತ್ತೂ ಕೆಲವರು laptopಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು charging pointಗಾಗಿ ಹುಡುಕಾಟ, ಒಬ್ಬರ ಮುಖದಲ್ಲೂ ಮಂದಹಾಸದ ಛಾಯೆ ಕೂಡಾ ಇಲ್ಲ! ಇರುವುದೆಲ್ಲವ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಇರದುದರೆಡೆಗೆ ತುಡಿವ ಮನಸ್ಸು! ನೆನಪಾದದ್ದು ಅದೇ ಹಾಡು “ ವಸಂತ ಮೂಡುವುದೆಂದಿಗೆ, ಈ ಜನಕೋಟಿಯ ಗೋಳು ಬಾಳಿಗೆ” ಈ ಜನರ ಬಾಳಲ್ಲೂ ವಸಂತ ಮೂಡುವುದೇ???
